With a sound inspired by the art, life, and nature of New Mexico, the Poltergeists I EP draws on dark folk sounds to deliver four songs about vengeance, moral compromise, depression, and The Lost Boys. With guest vocals by Gabbi Coenen (RVBY MY DEAR) and additional guitars by Matt Kozar (STELLAR DEATH, BRAVE), the EP relies on sparse and simple guitar arrangements and words. This is Witnesses' first non-single release in the style.

Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone. Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II! Ryan
