lyrics
A dead ship washed ashore
Some called it a sign
Some called it meaningless
Brave men went aboard
The lamplighters led the way
From the beaches
Lights to and fro
Under starcover
We called it doom
We knew it was too late
They brought all the dead into town
The dead want to be found
But none’s more selfish than a dead man
Who wants to be remembered
After three days
The wails in the night began
A murder here
A murder there
We called it doom
We knew it was too late
The lamplighters turned first
Bleeding eyes and speaking in tongues
O! They cry out
O! They set themselves ablaze
Human candles
Light the night
The weakest were the next
The feeble and the lame
Starboard too late
O! They are boarding
The planks groan
Wind tears our sails
The black ocean’s on fire
Red reflected in the stars
Red reflected in their eyes
Some called it meaningless
A great album to disappear into. Hypnotic rhythms and always-moving bass make it a compelling listen that offers much for the ears to think about. Weirding
From the US, great melodic / technical death metal! What an EP this is, it is so rich & multi faceted! Lots of layers of fantastic riffs to sink your teeth into. The only problem? I need it to be longer so I have it on repeat as adamlyger suggested! bmurator
Philadelphia upstarts Crypt Sermon cleave yet another epic slab o' doom full of fantastical thrills and kickass solos. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 25, 2019
A masterfully curated and exceptionally balanced selection of great effing doom! Capturing all that is awesome about the genre within the 90 min runtime, this serves as both a fantastic introduction to newcomers to the doom world, and a fine showcase collection for the veteran doom fan. The variety in the track ordering keeps you fully engaged throughout, to the extent that I listened to the whole volume in one glorious sitting. Even the kids were bobbing along. Get this in your collection!!! johx771
